New Spring Lecture Announced
Darwin, the Bible and the Church
David Galaty, Ph.D.

This lecture will explore the Darwinian revolution and its impact on the church. What was the Darwinian revolution? What challenges did Darwin pose for the church? What Biblical and theological currents contributed the churches’ engagement? What is the continuing relevance of the Darwinian revolution for our time?
David Galaty is an intellectual and cultural historian specializing in the history of science and technology. He received his BA degree in English from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, and his Ph.D. in history of science from The Johns Hopkins University. Most of his career he spent at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he taught in an interdisciplinary humanities program. Since coming to Portland, Dr. Galaty has taught at Lewis and Clark College, Portland State University, and Washington State University Vancouver.
The lecture will be held in the Community Hall at Grace Memorial. There is no charge for the lecture, but an RSVP to would be appreciated.
