“By faith Rahab did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she
had given friendly welcome to the spies.” (Hebrews 11:31)
What is Rahab’s Sisters?
Rahab’s Sisters is a ministry of presence to women
working in the sex industry on 82nd Avenue.
We gather on Friday nights at Saints Peter & Paul
Episcopal Church on Southeast 82nd Avenue, from 7pm - 10pm. We give
hospitality to women of all faiths and women of no faith, offering food, hot
coffee, health items, and—where appropriate—prayer.
Like the original Rahab, we strive to give
“friendly welcome” to those who would otherwise be on the streets and in danger.
Who are Rahab’s Sisters?
We are a growing group of women—clergy and lay,
Episcopal, Mennonite, and non-affiliated—who are committed to following Jesus by
providing hospitality and friendship to women who are among the poorest and most
marginalized in our city.
Like Rahab, we operate at the edge of the city. In
our name we claim solidarity, not only with one another in providing this
ministry, but also with all those on the street who bear the label “prostitute.”
Our hope is that the light in our window will bring light into the lives of the
women we serve.

How can I support Rahab’s
Sisters?
There are many ways that individuals and
organizations can support Rahab’s Sisters.
- Financial Support
Cash donations are needed to cover costs of security, food, health items,
and transportation vouchers for those we serve.

We try to serve a high-protein, hot meal to the women who come to us. You
or your organization might like to provide a monthly or quarterly meal, or
donate staples such as coffee or sugar.
- In-kind donations
We are always in need of personal items such as tampons, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, and new underwear. We may also develop a need for good quality
women’s clothing, particularly outerwear.
