The Changing Face of American Religion: Our Encounter with other Faith Traditions
December 2, 2009 by Stephen Schneider
Beginning December 2 and continuing for three consecutive Wednesdays, this seminar led by the Rev. D. Corbet Clark will explore how the religious makeup of America is changing dramatically, as people of faith traditions other than Christian become more established in this country.
We will explore some of those changes and examine some of the questions they raise: What do Christians share with people of other faiths? What still divides us? What are the ways we can work together with people of other faiths to address urgent needs? How does a diverse religious population affect the way we think about God and God’s will for our society? We will draw on the experiences and insights of people in the class, as well as recent writing on these topics.
