Grace Youth Group Holds Successful Valentine’s Day Bake Sale

Many, many thanks to all who prepared baked goods, hearty stews, soups, quiches and casseroles for the Valentine’s Day Youth Bake Sale. And many thanks to all of you who purchased these delicious treats! Together, we raised $287 which will be used to buy jump ropes and other small playground items for the “I Read Every Day” Camp in Philadelphia, a camp for children in one of the poorest and most troubled neighborhoods in Philly.
We will also be sending a small token amount to the Whosoever Gospel Mission in Philadelphia. The mission, dedicated to providing shelter, rehabilitation and education for homeless men, suffered a severe fire which jeopardized its ability to continue functioning. Part of our work there last summer was to contribute to its re-opening. We are delighted that the Grace Youth Group and all who supported the sale, have made it possible to contribute to the success of these two admirable programs.
